New record: 1077.2 mile tank!
Just thought I'd share how well our HS can do if hypermiled.
Thanks in large part to the warm, dry weather we've had, I was able to get 1077.2 miles on my last tank. The HS really likes it hot. My dash MFD read 69.6mpg for the tank, actual mileage was 66.52mpg. My fill was 16.194 gallons, so I had just under 1/2 gallon still in the tank. It seems once I passed 10,000 miles, the HS loosened up a bit and my mileage is getting better. I'm going for 1100 miles on my next tank, it's going to take a lot of work and a bit of luck with the weather (wind and rain will kill the mileage).

Hey Hyperme I'm just wondering how far under E is the needle when you finally fill up? I know our fill gauge are way off in relation to what's really left. It's even worse on the ct200h.

-Stated tank capacity: 14.5 gallons
-I've already added 16.688 gallons (I've had 9 fillups with 16+ gallons)
-There are approx 2.9 gal left when Low Fuel warning light comes on
-I've driven 203 miles after the Low Fuel light came on
-There are approx 2.3 gal left when Miles Remaining = 0
-I've driven 168 miles after the Miles Remaining = 0
The needle will sit under "E" for a very long time. I don't really pay much attention to the fuel gauge anymore, I can make a pretty good estimate of how many miles I have left based on my Tank MPG per the MFD (dash gauge) and per my ScanGauge.

Yes, the fuel gauge is way off. Here are some stats I have compiled for my HS over the last year:

With AC on I am down to 32 mpg from 38 mpg which seemed odd. Anyone has similar experience? I am also suspecting my dealer since they worked on my AC condenser right before the fuel efficiency drop.

I don't drive freeways, I take only city streets, usually with PSL's of 25-35. Freeway speeds don't agree with the HS. The 1000 mile tank was my normal driving/commuting over a 5 week period.

Yes, using a/c will really decrease your mileage. The ICE will run much more often. I thought I read somewhere that while the a/c compressor is on, the ICE will run continuously, but I'm not entirely sure.

You probably do not completely fill up the tank either, unless you top-off. That would account for some of the shortfall. If I were a betting man though, I'd bet it has even more than an 11.9 gallon capacity.

Regarding the AC and if using ECO mode ... the ICE appears to act like "normal". However the battery charge will go down quicker.
Now that it's summer ... my AC is on continuously. I manage to get about 40-42 mpg on almost all freeway driving ... however I limit my speed to 66mph.
