Where is the radar sensor located?
I really want to change to color of the plastic grille, and the owners manual says not to mess with it and implies that you could defeat the radar sensor. I know some earlier Lexus autos had the sensor in the bumper. Does anyone know where the sensor really is on the HS250h? Thanks.

Well, I learned a lot about the car. The Radar sensor is entirely behind the large Lexus emblem in the 250H. The grille appears to be neutral, and you can change the color even though the Lexus book says not to do so. I changed the color of my grille to black, using 3M automotive grade vinyl, and I really like it a lot more. It sets off the more 'edgy' shape of the chrome outline and the grille no longer looks so much like it is made out of plastic. I am sure some would not like it, but it suits my taste.
After I made the change, I thought I may have affected the LKA, but fortunately I did not. The LKA stopped working shortly after I changed the grill, and I wondered if I would have to change it back. But I learned that the LKA Lane Keep Assist depends on a camera located just to the side of the rear view mirror. The camera is visible through the windshield, if you look closely.
My local township put a toll pass sticker on the car blocking the camera the day after I changed the grille, and it took me a while to figure out the problem. I found a photo on the web someone had taken of that area of the car and finally discerned what had taken place. When I pointed it out to the township, they moved the sticker to the passenger side of the mirror and now everything works just fine.
Thought it might be good to post this in case someone else wanted to make a change similar to mine. I am not quite sure how to post a photo of the change to my car, but if and when I figure out how to do it, I will.
