Default 2012 last year?

Just saw the 2012 Lexus Lineup brochure dated 2/12 and the Lexus HS was not included. 2012 looks to be the last year for this model.

Could you provide a link. Does your brochure contain all other Lexus models with only the HS omitted? If the HS is not in a 2012 brochure it must be that Lexus has issued a mid season update, and this could be. It could be the formal announcement that the HS will be dropped, which we all thought was to happen Jan 1 2012.

I was hoping increased demand for hybrids due to rising gas prices would keep the HS alive.

the HS is still on the Lexus website. Even with the current pricing, the HS is a great buy for the purchaser looking for a great car with high MPG and creature comforts. There really aren't many others cars in this class. I think Lexus has done an awful job at promoting the HS. I had never heard about it until I was checking out the Camry Hybrid last month, when my dealer showed my the '10 on their lot. I will admit that I don't think I would have purchased a new HS though. I used one was cheaper than a loaded Camry, and with only 19k on the clock, it just made sense. I would think the used HS market might be bigger than the new?

I think the car deserves a ton more credit than it gets.

I don't have the brochure in my hands yet, but I have a helper on the east coast who collects brochures and he received the newest lineup brochure and informed me of the omission.

I doubt that Lexus would leave all mention of the HS out of the lineup for a mid-season update.

Default Well, Then...

Well, then, why would this brochure leave out the HS? Are you proposing that this is just a typo? I'm confused...

Can anyone find a 2012 HS on the lot? I can't even find one on an internet search. However, that might be b/c Lexus does not keep a public online inventory of their stock...hmmmm. Was at the dealer today getting a key fob programmed. They did a gas cap recall too while I had lunch in the waiting lounge. BTW...if you ever go to Lexus for a recall, go with an empty tank b/c they FILL IT AS A COURTESY. Didn't know that before. Very nice. Tech told me he was uncertain with regard to the car's future. I don't think we'll suffer too too badly if they discontinue as the resale value won't take a nosedive with no other luxury makers making a reasonably priced hybrid right now. Infiniti's is almost 60k and not as economical.

I'm proposing that there will not be a 2013 HS. I think that it is strange that they would omit the car from the late-2012 printing of the lineup brochure since there is still a 2012 model available, but maybe it is because they have finished production of the car and they are just selling the remaining inventory.

There are 34 2012 HS's on autotrader.com and (at least) one of them is a Nebula Gray Pearl, which was only offered in 2012 so it must be a true '12 model.

And the final nail in the coffin (to quote Autoblog) is that the new ES300h is coming out in August.

And the new ES300h gets 40mpg, they would have to redesign the HS and make sure it at least gets 40mpg but more likely 45mpg, considering that the car is smaller.

this is good news. ESh is what the HS should have been in the first place. It'll certainly have better road manners too. The HS is done for here in the US, but it might still be offered in Japan where it sells quite well. We'll see
