Default Issue with iPod

I've been having an issue with my ipod in the HS since I purchased the car and was wondering if I'm doing something wrong, if something is broken, etc.

If the ipod is already plugged into the car when I start the car, it won't play. Even if I hit AM/FM and then back to AUX, it says it can't read it.

Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a setting I need to change? I hate having to pull the ipod out every time before I turn the car on.

Thanks in advance!

Now you mention it, I'll have to check next time I drive the car. I did notice one day when I tried play my iphone I could not, but I'm not sure if I pluged it in before I started the car.

It happens to me with my iTouch but I simply unplug it and restart the car and it works fine.

You say simply, but that's a PITA. If I don't notice it right away, I have to pull over, stop the car, unplug the ipod, restart the card and then plug it back in.
