Cigarette Lighter Adapter in Trunk
I have a 2011 HS250H (std with Nav). I want to add a cigarette lighter adapter in my trunk. Is this something I can easily do myself or should I have a professional do it? Autoradio said they can add it for $85 parts & labor included. Does anyone know if there is an easy way to do it myself?

The 12v battery is in the back of the car, so I would call it pretty easy. If you take the floor carpet out of the car, you can open a little door from the right hand side of the separator from the interior cabin. In there you will find the 12V battery.

Thanks TonyHS. Sounds simple enough, but I'm going to have to look at it to make sure I can do it- don't want to wire it so that it could drain my 12v battery when the engine is off. Would be nice if the cars were pre-wired for them.

It's only going to drain the battery if your device is plugged in while the car is off. If you want it switched then you will need to use a relay tapped off an switched source. If you are using anything that will have power draw, like a charger or something you want to use a relay, since your switched source most likely not be able to handle the current.

If you run straight off the battery, you will want to add a fuse of some sort. The typical place to run this from would be the existing fuse box, probably under the dash. You'd then run a wire from there to the trunk - under the carpet. Your challenge will be getting from the backseat to the trunk - that's where the hybrid batteries are - and I'm not sure how accessible it is, or how solid it is.
