heating and cooling seats
My HS has about 59k, bought it used with about 29k on it and previous one owner. Looking at the carfax when I bought it, looks like it was well serviced by Lexus at the regular intervals. I noticed that the seats, especially the back portion does not seem to cool well like the hamstring part. It seems like the seat is "hot" to touch even though I've got the cooling on number 3. Maybe it's hot because of my clothing is up against it. Could something be malfunctioning in the seat cooling system? I was thinking of taking it to Toyota because Lexus is 2 hours away. I have an extended warranty through USAA and I'll have to read it thoroughly take make sure a potential repair would be covered. Thanks.

I've never gotten much cooling in my seats either. I can kind of feel a little breeze when wearing shorts, and maybe a little when my back is wet from sweat, but that's about it. Multiple times I've wondered if it was working or not. I'm pretty sure it's just air blowing, and not chilled air, so it wouldn't cool off hot seats that have been in the sun. I think it's more to evaporate moisture from your skin, the way ceiling fans make you feel cooler.
This feature isn't high on my list for my next car. Seems more gimmick than useful.

I kinda like mine. The seats are way more comfortable in the hot weather than my other car with just heated (non-cooled) leather seats.
The air most definitely blows from the back part of mine, because I think that's where the fan is located. Are you sure your fan is running? Try it by pushing the start button twice without putting on the brake. That way the engine won't start, it'll be quiet and you'll hear the seat fan run.
Also I noticed mine become way cooler when I run the A/C. The seat fan must pick up A/C air somewhere under the seat from a duct or something.
