Trunk Repair
My trunk latch, the black push plate has become warped I guess you would say and will not open the trunk there or from the inside. Has anyone ever had that issue and about how much do you think Toyota, not Lexus would charge to repair it? I am much closer to Lexus in Nashville. I'm adding my extended warranty back on for 12 months or 12k miles. I have 95k now and I previously had the warranty up till 91k, about 2 months ago it ran out. Had it for 36 months. Thanks.

I have no idea, but would take it to a couple local body shops for estimates before going to the dealer. It may be cheaper than you expect.
Question, since your extended warranty lapsed, it appears you think that by renewing it that this may be covered somehow? Otherwise, I am unclear why you mentioned it.

Thanks for the reply, it is a very comprehensive plan and I did check and the trunk and all parts related to it is covered. I considered it again because the coverage is accepted by Lexus and Toyota and they accept payments from the plan as well. With 95k miles I'm not sure what else may go wrong. For the 36k miles I had the plan the car was and is still reliable.

Good luck. Remember the hybrid drive system has an 8 year and I forget how many miles factory warranty. I never buy extended warranties, or service contracts as from my prior experience representing a few Japanese auto makers in lemon law suits years ago, it is too easy for them to deny coverage.
