2010 HS 250h Purchase
Hello everyone,
Just wanted to get your opinions. I’ve been a longtime fan of Lexus and owned a LS400 for years. I recently stumbled on a 2010 Lexus HS250h with 26,900 original miles at a Lexus dealer in New Jersey. It was bought new and serviced there exclusively. It’s tge premium with ever option except for the adaptive headlights. It’s a really clean car and the dealer originally had it priced at $10,900, but then changed it to 11,900, and then to $13459. They’re willing to sell it out the door for $13,900 without a warranty. Is that a good price or does that seem high for an 8 year old vehicle? The dealership claims that all recalls have been performed and they just installed new wheels, tires, brakes, and completed the 30k service.
Regards,
Mark

that's really low miles for an 8 year old car. I've got 115k on my 2010 and I think blue book value is about $10K, but I don't have nav or LED's or ML, just plain premium. Personally I think that's a really good price assuming the car is in mint condition, as it should be with low miles and assuming it was garaged so no paint issues or cracked seat leather. The HS250 took a resale hit after they discontinued it, but it's really a good car assuming it's what you're looking for (premium hybrid).

The condition looks to be consistent with the low mileage. The dealership agreed to repaint the back bumper due to some scrapes and such. The interior looks great aside from some superficial scratches on the plastic door panels. It also has a full set of service records so that’s a plus.

Even though it's 7+ years old - with 26k miles it's practically brand-new from a mileage perspective. The Toyota engine will last forever (or at least a couple of hundred thousand miles), so you will get excellent long-term value out of it.
I purchased mine a few months ago...with 180k miles on it. The previous (first and only) owner did 100% of the maintenance (and never missed a beat) at the Lexus dealership. It runs like its brand new.
Just curious - how/why did the dealer keep raising the price? I can't imagine it needing a lot of work (inside or out) at 26k miles

The dealer installed 4 new tires, 2 new wheels, performed an alignment, 30k service, and repainted the back bumper due to some minor scratches. They also performed the transaxle recall and fuel pump recall. They’re selling the car with one year of included maintenance but no warranty; an extended warranty is available for 2,900.

Buy it. It not only has extremely low mileage and a perfect maintenance history, but a new transaxle and fuel pump!

The dealership is also offering me a full detailing of the vehicle and one year of L certified prepaid maintenance. There are two other ones for sale by me; each are 2010s with 41k and 46k respectively for $11900. Neither of them have the options, history, or recent service as this one.
