Default trading a corolla 2011 for a 2010-2012 HS250?

What do you guys think, in terms of fuel economy, and repair costs (hybrid battery, for example),

would that be a good trade? . I need three baby seats to fit across in the back like in the corolla... havent compared the width of both cars (dont really see that many hs250s to begin with.

I bet the low number of years produced might not help on parts availability?

edit: I now see a recent tread and it is said that it shares the power train with the camry hybrid... Guess I'll be lurking around here a little bit

My guess is the Corolla will be cheaper to own. Lexus is, well, Lexus. Some things you can get done at a Toyota dealer but some parts are unique to Lexus. I doubt a Corolla is that much different than the HS in terms of mpg. But the HS is a much nicer vehicle.

Thanks for your point of view, it is true that the corolla is low cost, better keep that till it dies!

I might get a lexus and keep putting most of the miles on the toyota because in the end, if it breaks, its easy to repair, also a pretty common, "disposable" car

The HS250h is still being produced and is sold in Japan and Europe. It was only imported into the US for 3 years.
It also uses the same engine and drivetrain as the Camry hybrid for those years. So there is no problem getting parts.
My 2011 has 86,000 miles and has only had normal maintenance. Oil change, transmission fluid change, air filters change, brake cleaning and lubrication, tire and wiper replacement. It even still has the original 12-volt battery!
