Driver Side Mirror

Can anyone tell me what this part is? I think it's (very limited knowledge/basically I have no idea) called mirror "post"?

There are also used mirrors on eBay. It may be less expensive to buy an entire used mirror and take it apart than to buy new just the part you need. Junkyards will not usually take apart small items like a mirror and will only sell the entire unit. Good luck.
