Default anyone replace the trunk release button?

So the rubber cover over my trunk release button (on the trunk lid) has "melted" and is nearly impossible to use. Anyone have a similar issue and replace it? Just wondering if it's a 5 minute job or something that requires tearing down the whole trunk lid to get to. I didn't see an obvious way to get to it.

longer than 5 mins but not to hard.. You access it through the inner trunk .

I just got this replaced during my annual service. In case anyone else has this issue and was wondering about cost, the part was $100 and the labor was $60. So nice to be able to open the trunk again without fumbling for my key fob! Especially when carrying packages.

I just did this repair on my wife’s car for $50 for the part and less than an hour or so of sweat equity.

I have this issue too. However, my GS 350 is a 2013. Its just nasty... Not sure if this will work on mine. Its outside the range by a year. I dont know the bodystyles well enough to know if this will work. Anyone know?

You posted in the wrong model forum. This is the HS250h forum. and it gets very little traffic.
You should repost in the GS350 forum as they are completely different vehicles although little parts like this switch may be common. You need to cross check the part number 84945-50010 to see if it applies to the GS350 for 2013.
Good Luck.

Does the aforementioned part (84945-50010) fit the HS250h? If not, does anybody have the correct part number?

According to an online Lexus parts dealer the correct part number for the HS250h is 84945-53010.
https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/page_p...=PartRecommand

It is also available on Amzn under this title which shows what vehicles it fits:

Trunk Lid Release Switch - 84945-53010 - Fits: 2008-2015 Lexus IS250 - HS250h - IS350 - is F Convertible
