Default RX500H Production - Hold

Toyota Corp has sent message to all Dealers that all RX500Hs production has stopped. For grounded 500Hs they are to be put on hold for sale until all cars are inspected and fixed if needed. Don't know the cause, hopefully it is something simple that can be resolved rather shortly.

To confirm this only is for RX500Hs all other RX model are still being produced.

Strange. The electric drive and eCVT unit are the same as in the 350h, and the turbo engine is the same as in the 350 ICE. Those are still moving, so it can't be an engine issue. Maybe its the transmission/direct4 drive unit issue.

Can you tell us what source you have for this information? I'm not finding anything about this.
Thanks,

The RX500H doesn't have the same engine from 350H, it has same engine from regular gas 350. The transmission in 500H is 6 speed, not CVT.

My source is Bayridge Lexus, I have one that was going to be delivered this month. However dealer called me today that release came out from Toyota corp advising this hold and I will not most likely not seeing it till April best case. He also confirmed this release was only for 500H.

It would be nice if someone would say why it is on hold ? Just to post something without full info makes folks on edge at what's going on with perhaps the car they just bought or have on order.

The dealers won't provide that information to customers, we would need an "insider" posting here. The dealers actually benefit now from shrouding delivery and inventory issues in mystery, it allows them to mark up prices on the cars they have.

Dealers don't have clue at all, they keep them in the dark as well.

About a week after we put a deposit (December 2022) for our RX500H we got the same story that our RX (and other NX too) are on hold at local transit station due to inspection and QA. Dealership didn't say what they are addressing specifically. Then after two weeks later (total of three weeks) our RX500H was ready to be picked up.

I bought a 500h back on 2/6/23 build date 1/21/23. I have around 640miles no issues. I reached out to the dealership cause I know the owner and asked them if they received any call memo and they said no. If I hear anything I will post it her.

Beautiful! Hmm trying to push the wife to tint the fronts to match the back as well. We had thought about getting the Iridium but the wife wanted a different color for the 500H

Wow it looks awesome great color! Tints look great, I agree you need to match back you can always go light and still make difference. I don't think it was dealer specific, and I see your in the northeast to so your contact should have same detail, I guess your dealer isn't Bayridge, Queens group. Hopefully they aren't playing games but I can't even track it on toyota tracker with the real vin I have. Glad to hear you have some miles and perfect!
