Hi,
I'd like to confirm that the 2013 RX450h AWD's transmision oil (around 4.5 quarts) and the rear differential oil (around 1qt or 1 litre) both use the same oil, the Toyota ATF WS oil (part number 00289ATFWS)?
My local Lexus dealer no longer carry 00289ATFWS. I am wondering if there is a GOOD substitute. I really don't want to buy on Amazon, as there too many sellers from mainland China, and they advertise things fakely.
Thank you!

Very odd that your local Lexus parts does not have the transmission fluid. Instead of the part number, give them the vin and see what they say. They should be able to order it for you. You can alway walk up to Toyota dealership parts and get the WS-transmission fluid.
There couple of Lexus dealerships on eBay. Online shopping for fluids usually ends up costing more due to shipping. Local is best.

Check your owner’s manual. I will be surprised if the rear diff uses ATF fluid but you never now. You can open the drain bolt and let a few drops onto a white towel paper to confirm. ATF is quite thin and pink’ish. Gear fluid, which is in most diff’s, will be thick and lack any pink hue. Go to Toyota TIS website to download your manuals if you don't have them.

It uses the same WS transmission fluid as the front, the fluid is intended for splash lubrication.
