2011 RX450 weird battery failure
So I was told by neighbors they heard my horn honking, like the panic button, except I did not do that. The sequence was weird 4 honks then like 3-4 short burst.
Tried a few times to unlock the car and stop the horn, took a few tries. After entering the car and checking for 12v I was reading 5v.
Now I could not get the rear hatch open.
Used jump start gel cell on the post in the engine box. Had to wait about 10-15 minutes, tried the rear latch and it opened.
I then out the jump battery right on the car battery. I was able to start the car and start charging.
The battery is only 6 month old, I found the little cooling vent tube laying next to the battery, Mechanic did not put this back.
So what would have caused the horn to start honking
Why is there no timeout for this.
I have tried locking the car, and jumped up and down on the bumper, hitting the rear metal guard bar and seems no theft would cause this.
Maybe it;s possible the panic button was pressed, I don't think so.
Could the battery have overheated with the tube disconnected?
Any other tricks fir opening the the hatch?
Help...

Lower the seat back and enter the rear hatch from the back door.
