Hi, I have opened the mirror cover and have successfully connected the lexus integrated dash camera. However, due to the bulkiness of the Y-harness, i was unable to close the cover. Is opening the ceiling console on latest NX same as older ES model where you pry the front two corners and pull it down by force? The front corner on my new NX is the sunglasses drawer.

Reason: Posted on wrong thread sorry
FitCamX also uses a Y harness to install their camera using the same connect point I think the Lexus cam uses. They have install videos showing the removing of removal of 3 of the plastic pieces in that area. Not sure exactly which piece you are looking at, but perhaps it might be useful to look at it.

Anything negative about the Fitcamx… I’m ready to get one. Currently using a Garmin 67w.
just have mine installed, if anyone wonder how to open the overhead console, pry from the corner where sunglass compartment is located, just all your force pull it down.
it is impossible to hide all wires within rear view mirror compartment if you attempt to do so.

Thanks for posting....Should I (we) have extra yellow clips in case ...or don't worry about it. How are the recorded videos viewed? WiFi, Blue Tooth, Remove SD card?

The yellow clips can be re-used, i pulled it out five times on my very first installation.
Recorded video can be viewed on the app via wifi or you can take the SD card out.
The video quality shouldn’t be too great as it is only 1080p, but you pay for the reliability, durability, wide-view angle, integrated and it is Lexus.

From local dealer. I bought it during july 4th sale for $300 with harness. You need harness so that you can split the connection for both digital rear view mirror and the dashcam. You can also find 4k dashcam elsewhere for 1/3 of the price.
Here we are a few weeks later... Just checking for your current feedback. I'm ready to buy. Front only. I have a seperate rear dash mounted.
Hi, the video quality and auto-recording are good so far. The only cons is when you connect it via wifi, the wireless connection is not very strong and disconnects after a little while.

yes recording is very responsive. When there is a drop of rain or the road gets a little bumpy it records. If you hit a pothole, it does beep recording(secured video). If the wifi disconnects while you downloading video, you can reconnect by pressing the wifi button.
Thanks for posting this and the photos. I'm about to pull my 2024 NX ceiling panel off to install the dongar 10-pin splitter and an off-brand camera. Two questions if you don't mind ...
1. How did you get the first panel (the one around the mirror) off? I'm worried about breaking it. Thanks for the very clear instructions on the larger panel (with the glasses holder).
2. In the photo, which cable is the one you split for the camera wire? I understand there are two up there, but one is for the safety system and shouldn't be touched.
