450h
A dealer called ...said a 450H is allocated and I can reserve it. Any reason not get the 450h... thought about a 350h but I enjoy some HP.
Allocation ...does that mean the build is started? They have no idea when it’s coming in
Please explain the mileage on a full charge ... also if the 450h is stored for 6-8 months unplugged with a full charge does it hold or lose the charge. Thanks, Frank

The only reason not to get the 450h is it is more expensive upfront. The payback time is dependent on the following factors:
1) The price difference between 350h and 450h where you live. (For me, the 450h came with a tax credit bringing the difference closer
2) The cost of gas
3) The cost of electricity
Regarding storing the car, the manual recommends leaving it unplugged at ~50% charged. It is probably very very slowly discharged by the electronics.

I like the idea of it runs on gas or electric. I’m very upbeat about staying out of gas stations where I live. They get congested/aggravating. Also sometimes gas is unavailable for day(s) or electric is out from a storm. I like the balance of the 450h. What is the 450 plus .. same thing?

Gas. Does anyone add STA-BIL. Especially if the fuel is not used for months?

They only have the 450H+ Base and 450H+ F-Sport. There is no plain 450H. They both have the +.

Hi. Thanks for reply. It’s the HP I want or I’d get the 350h. Price ok. I’m a geezer. Going to make my last check bounce.

Unlikely to need any fuel stabilsier if only sitting around for a few months. Bigger concern would be making sure that the charge in the 12v battery is kept topped up.

As I understand it, the 450h is a "standard" hybrid, whereaas the 450h+ is a plug in hybrid. In other words you'll still have to fill up regularly with the 450h, as it'll only do a mile or two on electric, with the engine cutting in to charge the hybrid battery and run the car at speeds over about 20 mph. The 450+ can be plugged in to charge, and is expected to give around 30-40 miles on a full charge.
