Hi all, this is my first post. I bought a GS450h SEL about 10 months ago. It's a 2008 plate, 44k miles, Full Lexus service history (14 stamps in the book) and 1 owner. It had its last service 2k miles ago / 2 years ago.

I was thinking of getting the Gearbox oil and Rear Diff oil changed as the car is 15 years old and the service history doesn't show that has been done.

I called Lexus Edgware Road (NW London) just to see their prices and their admin said that the master technician told him "The fault with this Lexus is that they are sealed units and you can't change the Transmission and Read Diff fluids"

Is that correct? I see people in the Lexus forums always talking about changing those fluids and when I spoke to other 'Japanese Specialists' garages near London they said you can change fluids for both of those items.

Update: Lexus Colindale (Edgware Road, London) called me back to correct and confirm that:

• The Rear Differential Oil can be changed
• But the Gearbox is a sealed unit and never needs to have its oil fluid
