Default Juddering when maneuvering at low speeds in 500h

This only seems to occur in Normal or Sport modes and when either starting off from stationary or coming to a stop.

Does anyone else have this? It almost feels as if the car is using the cameras/sensors to preemptively force brake, but almost like an ABS pump rapidly firing. The whole car judders.

Do you have lane change control on?

Might even be the proactive drive assist.

I wondered about the driving assist and turned it off. Still exists.

Perhaps it either still uses sensors to control in tight spaces, or there may truly be an issue.

That’s why I wanted the opinion of other 500h users.

I have an RX-500 and the proactive driving assist stays turned off. Most of the time I run in Eco mode but have not noticed anything significant when taking off.
There IS some time when you take off and the car does not know if you're rounding a stop sign in your neighborhood or turning onto a highway. The engine will need to start most likely then but I have not noticed any sudden hesitation in my car.

Please let us know your journey with this issue.

I am also having the same issue on my RX500h built on May 2023 with 1200km (~750mi). The vibration seems to be coming either from the transmission or the modulator/brake controller that handles regenerative braking and only occur when the gas engine is on while reversing or moving forward. I also test drove another RX500h (build in Jan 2023) in my local dealership and it was also doing the same vibration.

I feel my 500H move jerky whenever I back out of my parking spot every morning.

Never gave me an issue, so I dont really care.

Default RX500h uncontrollable jerking while stopped

Concerning incident occurred today while stopped: all of a sudden car starts violently jerking back and forth. I was on the brakes the whole time and issue stopped as soon as P was selected. Thinking it’s some sort of transmission software issue as the engine was off during this event. Has anyone else ran into anything similar?

Hybrids have engine stop option when parked.

I think that's what the author is referring to.

But I've never had that issue with mine. Maybe someone with similar issues can chime in as well

Ah got it. I have read about tranny issues with the 500h.

Any threads you can point me to? It would make sense that the 500h would have the problem, given the 6 speed and the EV mode - sometimes it's not smooth, especially when getting warmed up.

Edit, found this one: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/hyb...th-issues.html, might have to take a trip to the dealer.

Thanks for those.

As an update, I swung by the dealer yesterday and they indicated there were reports of other owners having the same issue (as well as vibration under reverse). However without a recall, TSB, or other guidance from Lexus they were unwilling to do anything else and only said "it is normal operation". This is frankly unacceptable, and I'm disappointed in Lexus - certainly won't be considering them in the future.

Default Shaking when low speed

My RX500h is produced in May of 2023 this year, right now it's only 2800 miles, I noticed that ,sometimes it's shaking when low speed driving on the uphill. The following is the repro steps:
1. cold start and enable the gear position gauge, which we wanna know which gear engaged when slowing drive under D drive mode.
2. Find a hill and slowly driving , when the gear gauge showing 2nd then foot leave off the gas pedal.
3. The car will be slowing down due to no gas pedal applied.
4. The car is almost slow down to 0 mile then the shaking is happened. it won't downshift to 1st.
5. it won't automatically go to the 1st gear even it's almost 0 speed until you foot on the brake pedal to make a full stop.
6. Sometimes I cannot repro it when I drove more than 30 mins.

Any concerns ? It's more like a software issues, it should automatically down shift gear from 2nd to 1st when the speed is slow or 0. right now, I have to do a fully brake to wait the gear drop to 1st then no shakings.
