Gas Cap: Hybrid vs non-hyrbid gas cap for RX400H
My 06 RX400H needs a new gas cap. It is really confusing me that Toyota has a different part number for the hybrid Toyota/Lexus than the non-hybrid. When I look on amazon, the generic ones are for Jeeps and other vehicles, but all the Toyota specific caps says not compatible with the Hybrid (Camry Hybrid, Highlander hybrid, and RX400H).
The RX400H / Hybrid cap p/n is: 77300-48010
The non-hybrid fuel cap p/n is: 77300-06040. This one says it fits most Toyotas 04-2016
I cant figure out why they would be deferent. the only one that Amazon claims that fits the hybrid are universal and says they also fit Jeep, Dodge Ram, VW, etc.
Can I use the non-hybrid/standard cap?
