Hi everyone, being new to a hybrid I've been guilty of committing an occasional sin. When I pull up in a parking space and the engine is in electric mode (engine off), I sometimes forget to notice the system is in the READY mode and will blindly exit the vehicle and run my errand. When I come back to the car sometimes hours later I see in horror that the engine has been cycling on/off and thus possibly overheating and/or signaling to the teenagers pulling up next to it that its an easy grab.
There has to be a way to customize the system so that when the remote is in my pocket and when I walk away a specified distance the system will shut itself off completely. Right? Anyway know this one?

Are you getting a beep reminder the key fob is removed from the cab?

I now look for the display screen to turn off.

There might be an option with Lexus connect to remotely turn off/on but it requires payment + the system may be obsolete now.

Usually when it happens to me, I only realize cause I can’t seem to lock the doors when walking away, so that’s a big reminder, hard to miss.
