Default V6 GSR in the TX and not the RX450h?

Does anyone have an idea why they would put the v6 GSR in 450h TX and not RX? It just seems strange that all the other engines carried over to the TX.

I think this is the last gen ICE/hybrid RX before going fully electric and TX will maybe replace the RX?!

Easier to source power train, no need to fighting with RAV4/NX/RX for it. I think.

That is awesome set up, I would have def jumped if they had offered that in RX. TX is just to Toyota looking it really looks like they took Grand Highlander and put Lexus badge on.

Where do you see a Lexus TX 450h?

I am aware of the TX 350 (same engine as RX 350), TX 500h (same engine as RX 500h) and TX 550h which uses the V6 combined with the bigger rear electric motor.

I would guess they chose the beefier motors due to heavier weight and bigger size of TX in TX 550h

Not to say that the a RX 550h would not be good. No plugin though. keep the battery weight down, add that sweat naturally aspirated V6 combined with powerful rear motor......

There is no TX450h+ Do you mean the TX550h+?

My guess is that it's because the TX550h+ is 600 lbs heavier than the RX450h+

Personally, I'm glad the RX450h+ has the 4cyl. The 6 would make it heavier which would cut down on EV range and the V6 plus extra weight would reduce fuel economy. Of course, the V6 would make an already expensive vehicle even more expensive...

I don't see the TX replacing the RX. The two vehicles have different target audiences.

RX450h+ has 37 miles of EV range and gets 35mpg combined

TX550h+ has 33 miles of EV range and gets 29 mpg combined

Performance is roughly the same at 0-60 in 5.9 for the TX and 6.2 for the RX.
