Does the rx350h have too many issues?
Hey
looking to buy a used RX 350 Hybrid 2023 and I'm just wondering if there's too many issues with it or should I just wait to find a used 2024 since 2023 is the first year for the redesign.

I honestly don't think there are many issues with the RX 350H. People with problems tend to post on forums giving the illusion there are massive problems.
The RX350H shares most of the drivetrain with the highlander and is quite reliable.
On the other hand, the NX 450H+, RX450H+ and RX 500H seem to be having battery/transmission issues most likely to a new/specific design for those models. But I am sure Lexus will get it all sorted out eventually.

Just turned 16,000 mi and 13 months on my RX350h. No real issues. Unreliable "digital key", one-time dead battery, (self inflicted overuse of the ACC mode) but would like to see the 12VDC system more robust. Agree with Chuck, most of the issues seem to be with the 450h and 500h. My experience has been smooth, quiet (mostly), efficient and reliable. Avg MPG 34-36. Knocking on my wooden head.

there is a long thread in the Hybrid section about battery issues for the 450H+ and many are using 12v trickle chargers. There is also another thread on the 500H tranny issues which resulted in a stop sale last spring until Lexus figured it out.

Yes, I know that. The issues are distinct to each model. You had lumped them together.

Agree 2024 RX 350h and zero problems. Averaging 38 mpg which is crazy for a vehicle this size. Really enjoyed my 2017 RX 450h also zero problems. This is much more enjoyable to drive, super quiet and much nicer interior and exterior. It is a Lexus I bought it for the reliability among other things.

I've been the unlucky owner where my '23 Luxury 350h has experienced every single issue that have been posted in this forum that are not necessarily considered serious. Nevertheless, I expected better from Lexus specially since my previous car was a 2018 BMW X3 M40i. Here's the complete list of unfortunate issues my 350h has run into:
1. Gas door not completely flush when closed, protrudes slightly
2. Rain sensing wipers will suddenly stop sensing rain and stops wiping the windshield. It then requires resetting the system by toggling the switch to manual and back to rain sensing. Rain sensing wipers are about 40% accurate. This is particularly annoying to me since I live in the PNW where it rains often enough. Also, my other Lexus and even my previous BMW did not have rain sensing wipers issue
3. Digital key doesn't work half the time and requires to be redownloaded every week or so
4. 12-volt battery died several times when on ACC that required a car battery jump. This should never happen since in theory the system has a time limit how long the ACC can be left on without turning on the engine before the car automatically shuts down the car without killing the 12-volt battery
5. Random unusual high revving when driving on flat road with foot off both gas and brake pedals. For those who drove/drives a manual transmission it is similar to the engine being revved up when you step on both the gas and clutch pedals at the same time but the difference is it happened to me when I'm not stepping on any of the pedals with my RX
Again, the above are not serious issues but pretty frustrating and something I didn't expect from Lexus regardless if it's a new gen. For what it's worth, my 2018 X3 was a new gen and the first M40i trim edition. Aside from the wireless charger heating up, I never had problems with it. Funny (but not really) since I was warned by everyone to expect issues with my BMW!

2024 RXh Major Issues?
I am considering the 2024 RX hybrid and was wondering if there are any serious issues about which to be concerned. I know every car has quirks, especially software issues, but have there been any reports of engine, battery, suspension, or transmission issues? This would be my third Lexus, so I know they are generally reliable. Just want to do my due diligence. Thanks!

I have a new 24 350h it’s two months old and 3k miles already…. The short answer, nothing to worry about. This probably our 20 vehicle in our household, it’s easy to get used to the quiet and confort, and this is our first Lexus. The hardest part is getting used to the buttons and setting … now we just enjoy the ride !
