Took delivery December 27 from Lexus of Portland:
Flint Mica, Gray
Mark Levinson sound system
No waiting; car was in dealer's inventory (along with a few other hybrids)
Portland, Oregon location
No complaints so far; the technology is impressive. Well, one thing on the wish list: a car in this price category with this much technology should have satellite radio and iPod interface.
One unresolved problem: Bluetooth Cingular Blackberry doesn't reliably connect to Hands-Free.

UPDATE: Hands-free connection works fine. No phone book transfer, though, thanks to RIM.

Default Got mine 12/12/05

From Lexus of Wayazeta in Minneapolis, Mn
Val did a nice job of finding me what I wanted and in 2 days I picked it up.
Black on Black. Although he said I was unable to get the upgraded stereo, I am very happy with the one that is in it. So far I have 1700 miles on it and average 25 MPG. I did have to pay MSRP but he threw in two jackets and the receiver hitch. Very happy with it so far.

I don't know why, but Lexus is recommending that NO aftermarket stuff, including WHEELS be put on an RX400h. It has something to do with the electrical equipment not being compatible with aftermarket electrical stuff.

I'm not sure if it's really that much of a concern. I think that Lexus hasn't ever built a limited edition vehicle before (other than badges and colors) & they want to be able to diagnose any problems with unaltered vehicles.

Test drove it this past weekend, and loved it! I like the brushed aluminum interior a lot more than I thought I would. The vehicle is silent, comfortable, roomy, economical on gas, and fast! Even the base sound system sounded pretty decent. Mine probably comes in next weekend.

Default Longo

That is an awesome deal you got on your RX400. I am in the market for one as well. Who did you work with at Longo and are they dealing that aggressive on all the RX 400's?

Thanks for any info

Thanks,
The RX 330’s available Rear Seat Entertainment System (RSES) includes a 7-inch-wide screen that descends from the ceiling and a DVD player built into the center console, enabling rear seat passengers to watch DVDs and listen to CDs, while relaxing in the RX 330’s comfortable rear seating. For added convenience, two wireless headphones are included with the system, allowing rear-seat passengers to enjoy their favorite video/audio selection independently of the front seat passengers.

The DVD player can be operated by the front seat occupants on the touch panel and by rear seat occupants with the remote control or on the DVD player control panel its available on the 06 vehicle.

There's nothing to do with wheels on the hybrid but on servicing the vehicle they need to discharge the HV battery on the hybrid even doing oil change. But if you asking to put an aftermarket product on your hybrid make sure you a got a highly trained lexus service technician!
Why this will cost you if you burn this things out......The RX 400h features a sophisticated inverter assembly that consists of a boost converter, an inverter and a DC/DC converter. In accordance with signals provided by the hybrid system ECU via the Motor Generator ECU, the boost converter boosts the HV battery’s nominal voltage of direct current (DC) 288V up to a maximum voltage of DC 650V. Once the voltage is boosted, the inverter converts the direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC) to drive the Motor Generator (MG1), Front Electric Drive Motor (MG2)—and, in all-wheel drive (AWD) models, the Rear Electric Drive Motor (MGR). Conversely, when the Motor Generator or Front and/or Rear Electric Drive motors function as generators, the electricity generated is converted inside the inverter from AC to the maximum voltage of DC 650V. The boost converter then reduces the voltage to the HV battery’s nominal voltage of DC 288V to charge the battery.

The inverter assembly includes a DC/DC converter that drops the HV battery’s nominal voltage of DC 288V to DC 12V in order to supply electricity to body electrical components, such as lights, the audio system and the air conditioning system (excluding the A/C compressor), as well as to recharge and maintain the auxiliary battery at a constant voltage.

In accordance with signals received from the hybrid system ECU, the Motor Generator (MG) ECU in the inverter assembly controls the boost converter and inverter in order to drive the Motor Generator, Front Electric Drive Motor or Rear Electric Drive Motor, or to cause them to generate electricity. Additionally, the MG ECU controls the DC/DC converter according to signals received from the hybrid system ECU. The MG ECU also transmits information to the hybrid system ECU that is required for vehicle control, such as inverter output amperage, inverter temperature and failure information. At the same time, it receives information from the hybrid ECU that’s required for controlling the Motor Generator, such as the required motive force or the motor temperature.
