Im sure it will, did you guys know that the very first LS400 had a special coating on the wood that absorbs/reduces noise. I read that on Motor Trend or Road&Track, i forgot, a very old article probably from 1990. I'm sure there are MANY details on the manufacturing process of the LS that Lexus doesnt mention to the public, keeps it to its self. (those details are what made all LSs great )

I wish they would think otherwise.

Sure we may want to see an all black interior, but we're just a small minority in their target market.

I also remember seeing a pic of the 600hL model, the shift **** is different from the 460 ****. on the 600hL its wood with that chrome piece in the middle of it like on the new IS, but on the 460 its wood and leather, maybe its an option to have wood and chrome shifter. wish i remembered where i saw the pic of the 600hL shifter

well i honestly don't know where lexus got the idea of black leather with black trim is not luxurious enough. people from cl aside, i actually talked to several people at dealership (customers when checking out cars and they all comment why no black wood for black interior, as soon as they saw the blackwood on the grey interior.
these were all gs shoppers, so they got money

Black on black is fine as long as it's not forced on all people that wants to have black leather. I agree this combination will only appeal to a minority of the people looking at this particular model.
I for one will not choose black leather for this car if it comes only with black wood.
I still think for a flagship car, they should allow their high end customers the luxury to choose whatever wood trim they want to match the leather if they're willing to wait a few months for a factory order.
With advance notice of a custom order on only a few strips of wood & a steering wheel which should be nothing too complicated, I wonder how would that be a significant detriment to their production process ?

I don't think the wood trim on the black dash of the LS600hL shown in New York is black wood. It's a dark brown wood similar to that that goes with the cashmere leather of the 06 SC430. It's actually stated in the mini brochure that there's another dark grey wood as a choice .

but i agree, black leather with black trim that's not for everyone, and i think majority of people will want the brown wood. but i don't want people to think that we are that much of a minority, when i can easily find people at dealership admiring the blackwood as well
