400h Acclerator Pedal Click
New Rx400H, 700 miles. There is an annoying click when the acclerator pedal is relased. Doesn't seem to happen until I drive the car about 30-40 minutes so we never saw it during the evaluation drive or when we picked up the vehicle.
The dealer service manager heard the noise, but says its "as designed". Is coming from a switch that is attached to the pedal and there are no adjustments. While the noise is bothersome, the clicking is also felt by the drivers foot. I was in a rush to get out of the dealer yesterday so didn't have time to discuss why he couldn't replace the switch asembly.
Anyone else have this problem?

May be the RX400h is so quiet you can even hear the air blowing out from the AC vents...lol.. . Please keep in mind that the RX400h need some input from the accel switch to turn on or turn off the electric motor or switch to gas engine. If you tap the accel pedal lightly you will hear the clicking noise if you're really listen to it. If the car is at the stop light and run on electric motor you will hear about anything in that car including your heartbeat ...

Among the "Great Lies of Our Time" is, "They ALL do it." If any dealer gives you that answer, RUN - don't walk - away.
Get a second (even a third) opinion. Obviously they DON'T all do it . . . . unless you purchased the MNO - "Mysterious Noise Option" (a selection of strange clicks, squeaks, thumps, and rattles designed to occupy your evenings and weekends for years) at purchase.
