i imagine a car rather than a truck put into commercial service would void some of the warranties, however that question is moot because most nyc taxis are driven 24 hours a day in three shifts if they are a company owned car. this will put 100,000 miles on the odometer in approx six months

Sure hope that cab doesn't need to replace the batteries soon.
I think the price dropped a bit though, just under 10,000

Well, it'll do well to see how the hybrid components stand up. The Prius taxis here already have 100,000kms plus.
The first Prius taxi (the one that Toyota took back to Japan and gave the taxi driver a new Prius for free) had 325,000kms. It changed its front brake pads are 142,000kms and the rear brake pads at ~300,000kms.
