Here's what dealer said was new on 2007 rx400h....
Went to look at a rx400h last night and told the dealer that I was interested in the 2007 and was willing to just order one.
I was fully expecting the "nothing will change on the '07 so why don't you just buy an '06 today" schtick, but instead I was told the following:
1) Navigation screen will be much improved (using the rx350 nav?)
2) Satellite radio will now be included. The AM button will now be "AM/Sat". He said that the Satellite tuner will be able to handle XM or Sirius.
3) He said that the engine will be tuned for better gas mileage because people have higher expectations than what the car is delivering. He thought 30mpg would be the number instead of the 25mpg that his customers have been averaging. Some on these boards have suggested that there might be a button that would let you choose better "performance" or "fuel economy".
4) He said that they are essentially re-working the synergy drive so that there is less vibration at low speeds or when the electric and gas engines are switching off with one another. I did feel this vibration in the seat while driving up a hill at around 40mph. I mentioned it to him and asked if others have felt the vibration and he said "Oh yeah!".
Forgot to ask about iPod auxilliary input.
Anyway, that is what I got last night (7/31/06). He thought the new 2007s would arrive in 4-6 weeks.
Feel free to add or comment about anything I wrote above.
BTW, I liked the car a lot. I currently have a Range Rover Sport but am trying to make a stand about energy usage and am considering trading in my 8 month old RR Sport. It won't be a good financial decision but my conscience will feel good.

No Sirius until Nov 15th
After reading these forums I wanted to make sure that Sirius would be available on the new 2007 rx400h. I asked for absolute confirmation from the salesperson and after 2 days of checking with what he said were the key people, he said that Sirius tuner integration won't be available until sometime between Nov 1st and Nov 15th.
Dates are always subject to change so take this with a grain of salt, but according to this dealer, Sirius will NOT be supported upon rollout of the 2007 rx400h.
just fyi.

sirius
for some reason there is a technological glitch getting sirius to work in the rx's at this time. this applies to installs where the components are inside the stereo system. At this time the aftermarket people have not come up with a solution either.
