Deals on 2007 RX400h?
Has anyone gotten a decent deal on a new RX400h? I'm thinking of waiting a while to get something like $1000 over invoice. Where are they at now, typically?
Thanks,
Deane

The 2007 400h's are mostly still on the boat, have not seen one yet. If there is any deal it's on the '06 which can still get the U.S. $2200 tax credit (until 9/30 then it drops to $1100). That's a credit--not an itemized deduction.

They are in now in Seattle with more on the way. We will take delivery next week at msrp with a few extras thrown in at no cost. Seattle is a very strong market for hybrids so there is not much discounting. Other parts of the country may vary.

Saw a '07 RXh at local dealership in TX today, noticed hybrid badging on the rear doors, Gen 5 nav, this one did not have the DVD option which supposedly has been upgraded to a 9" screen... maybe $1K discount off MSRP for being a loyal repeat customer. $1K over invoice? Fuggetaboutit.
You can get a better deal on '06. We have a black onyx '06 RXh fully loaded (NV/ML/DVD, premium plus pkg, wood grain, and chrome wheels) listed $53K, got it for $49K. Edmunds.com true market value still has these vehicles selling at MSRP.

I saw an '07 RX 400h last weekend and was able to sit in it. Unfortunately, contrary to the Lexus mantra of their "Pursuit of Perfection" they were not able to achieve Toyota Prius technology and failed miserably in that one arena. It is not even availabe as an option. Come on Lexus, I know smart acces is not for everybody but at least make it an option.
I had my 50 large ready to plunk down on an '07 Rx 400h but am quite dissapointed. But alas the E70 BMW X5 is looking more along the lines of that pursuit of perfection come November when it becomes available with optional comfort access (keyless entry/ignition), 3rd row seating, 350 hp and 350 torque, head up display, active (radar) cruise control, BMW driving dynamics....
Sure I'll end up paying 15k more for all this but what the hay, what's another 15 when your dropping 50?

It's possible to get a 2007 RX400h for about $2K over invoice now (Sep 2006).

I bought a 2007 RX400 last weekend and paid $2000 under the MSRP sticker. I spoke to several other dealers, and visited two others, and no one else seemed interested in going anything substantial under sticker. I'm in Southern California.

Dennis, which dealer did you end up buying from? Through internet quotes the best deal I've been offered is $2500 over invoice. This was South Bay Lexus.

IMO I could still tolerate the key but I would rather see the Smart Key but as for a BMW X5 I drove one and hated it with a passion steering wheel vibration was terrible. I was out with a BMW engineer in his X5 and complained of the vibration and was told that is normal. I was a passenger in one and felt the steering wheel and it vibrated also that is three X5's I been in not to mention the ride was awful. LEXUS wins hands down any day.
