it's the only SUV that handles decently enough that I can pretty much ignore the fact that I'm driving a truck.
Agree 100% (only because I haven't really had lots of drive time in the new Jeep SRT8).

I cannot comment on the Lexus *** (lol) but with Mercedes' ABC you have to realize that there are roughly 5000lb worth of weight that needs to be handled. To see ABC stop almost all lean and body roll with that much weight is just impressive. It's truely a technology that needs to be copied asap.

I disregard the Cayenne. It's much too expensive, I'm still penny pinching when I buy underwear. 120k$ for an SUV is just too much, no matter how fast it is.

Before I bought my GS450h, I was contemplating the BMW 5 series. My dream car is the M5. But now that you guys say BMW is always in the shop, I don't feel so bad.

I have the 550i, it's a wonderful car, but my gs450h is less of a headache. the other is quite a car though.
ANd about the M5, I put down $$ and was next in line for the SMG, which is what my 550i is, but I decided against it, even though I could afford the car, going to the gas station ever 4 days is B#$$$)_*($%.
just my 3 cents.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of headaches are you getting from your BMW? How does the 550i compare to the GS450h besides quality? I also hate going to the gas station every 4 days, but I just think the M5 looks way cool.

yes looks very beast-like (M5), awesome looking and an awesome car!!! Just didn't want the every 4 days to gas station. As for my 550i, no problems yet, it brand new SMG. Plus all services are included which is a nice add-on, although it's in the purchase price, so oh well. My previous 545 had maintanence issues. I took it into the dealership alot more than I would have like. Even my camry was maintance free. I just like to get a car and have it be problem free, except routine mainance. I had some vanos issues with the 545. bah oh well. the 550i is new and nothing yet. we'll see. Lexus is "known" to be free of headaches, bwm is known to have some "problems". oh well.

The ABC is more about handling and is a revolutionary technology that no other company has yet to introduce in their cars. In a tech-test a few years back, Mercedes had a SL500 on some jacks with the wheels taken off on a pedestral. They had hooked up a computer and were tricking the ABC computer systems about what kind of road it was on, the car was bucking like a horse!
thats pretty funny statement there. "Air suspension is less about handling, more about being air suspension"...what exactly does that mean?

Maybe ABC does more than other active air suspensions, or not... But plenty of active suspensions, especially on SUV's, make huge differences. And have to read about MB handling better than BMW, ABC or not.
