I would be very disappointed if Lexus doesn't have a comparable AMG/M Sports package for folks like yourself who are looking to trade in.

The Sports Package on the IS gives you 255-wide rear tire. I'd like to see 275 option on the GS460. This gives GS both the look and the handling it deserves

(If I remember correctly, the Sports Package on the BMW 550 has 275mm rear tire)
Rattles and brakes seem to have been fixed in 2007 Model Year cars, the V8 model especially has never been at a loss for braking power.

I completely enjoy the "instant" kick the 450h has and no shifting!! instant power. ALthough it's not 380 hp, for 345 or whatever it is, it's instantaneous and tourqe, wow. I love it.

I'll have to try the 460 when its time and decide then.

Now if they made a 460 "hybrid", and I only bought the hybrid not for the earth, but for the instant tourqe/CVT...... I'd definetly buy that, no questions asked!

If you have driven the 450h and like the handling AND don't mind the trunk space, then get the 450h. The immediate torque feels like a V12. GS460 will have more top end umph so I would say 460 for highway, 450h for city.

My issue is I didn't think the 450h handled very well. Maybe that's just lexus, I don't know, hoping that either the 460 or after market will solve that.

That would be nice.

I saw a BMW 550 on the weekend and when it passed me I could not help but notice how fat the rear tires were!

Obviously it must have had the sports package. They looked meaty and filled out the rear very nicely. It looked really awesome!

heh...well since I am in taiwan and not back in California...I can't even pick up the GS450h I already placed a deposit on...but since I am not in a rush...I can wait for the GS460 to come out...if it does in Spring 07...and then decide to pick one or the other...hopefully the costs won't be too far apart....

I drive GS hybrid and rx hybrids , I do it for my profession, IMO wait for the GS460, yes it is coming. The GS450h has instant power, but still NOTHING beats the sound of a power packed *V8*.

"The engine puts out 380 HP in the new LS. I would suspect it will be higher for the GS as it usually is when it gets transplanted into the GS."

I spoke to my salesman tonight and asked him about it.He told me that the GS460 is surley coming. It will have 420 HP and the 8 speed transmission. He was not sure about the 19" rims though. We shall see.

GS460 with 420hp?

Maybe he meant the IS-F with 420HP and the 5.0L V8, or something else. Or maybe a GS 500? It wouldn't make much sense for the GS to eclipse their top end luxury sedan in power though....

The dash, door, and headliner rattles have definitely not been fixed in my 2007 450H. I'm having far more noise related issues with my '07 GS than I had with my '06 GS.

Thats what I was thinking also, but, then again, the GS is much more of a sports car.I hope they give it at least 400 HP.For the extra 10k or so you pay for the car,I think horsepower between the 350 and the 460 should at least be 100.There should be no doubt that if you own the 460,it will smoke a 350.

So you are still having noise problems? Has the dealer tried to repair it?
I had noise problems also on my GS300 AWD and it took six times before
they were able to repair it.

Historically, take a look at the 98 - 05 GS and compare it to the LS that came out just prior to 98 and you will see that in fact the GS did eclipse the LS in power when the same engine was transplanted into the GS.

They dealer can- and has- fixed some, but every month another rattle seems to pop up in a new location. None are extreme, but all are irritating. I'll keep a list and let the dealer work on a few more at the next service interval. The point I was making is that in my case there was no improvement from the 06 to 07 model with interior noise.
