I just returned from converting my LS600hL deposit to an order. The car will be delivered in June.

I chose the Noble Spinel Mica and the Cashmere interior. Interestingly, the Truffle Mica is available, even on the non-Neiman Marcus versions.

I also chose the “Premium Package II with Advanced Pre-Collision System"

I was disappointed that the radar cruise control was only available with that package, which includes (rear seat) things I didn't really want.

Descriptions from the announcement include:

“ … new Torsen full-time all-wheel drive system …” Also “ … Torque is even more impressive as the LS600hL can effortlessly accelerate from 50-70 mph in a rapid 3.5 seconds.”

Congratulations Nice choice of color too, Noble Spinel is one of my top 3 fav. paint for this model, together with Smoky Granite & Black Sapphire.

The Launch Edition(limited to 100) with Truffle Mica is a U.S. only thing I think. Up here, the Truffle Mica can be ordered with the LS460's as well.

AWD is an important feature for me. Anyone have any predictions on how the LS600hL will drive in the snow and ice with this Torsen AWD system?

I'm not interested in speed or handling per se, just how well will I be able to negotiate snow/ice covered hills.....

I know thats what it says...but it doesnt make sense for the fully loaded 600h l to have 18's and the regular one to have 19's....i think it is a mistake

With huge performance tires and all that torque, I'm guessing it won't be very good in the snow.

For a car that pricey, I'm not sure I'd want to drive it around in snowstorms, knowing how poorly everyone else drives!

Well, for better or for worse, this is a 4 season New England car for me.

I guess I'll need to keep the tires well treaded.

Surely the AWD will help somewhat.....

Defently get snow tires..that helps a ton..i have a friend that drives his SC in the snow with snow tires with no problems so with good snow tires you should be fine...

Yes, definitely snow tires, and two sizes narrower than your summer tires. Also get them mounted on a second set of wheels so you don't ruin your Lexus wheels with the salt.

Considering this has full time AWD and VDIM, it should be very good in snow, even on stock tires.
