This is going to be hard to describe, but I wanted to see if someone else who owns the 450h has the same issue.
When driving at low speeds in the morning I often feel like the power delivery has a non-linear character. Instead of accelerating or cruising smoothly, you'd feel these minor evenly-spaced lurches/pulses in power delivery (several a second).
Here's a way to imagine what I'm talking about. Pretend that you're riding a bicycle, and your bicycle's rear wheel is bent. Several times each second the wheel will rub against your bike's brake pad, slightly slowing down your progress. This is how it feels in my 450h.

I think I understand what you are referencing and yes I as well experience the small yet very rare, "lurch" you are describing.
Nothing I concern myself over, but then again, it's more often "not an issue" than "an issue".
I think it is from the engine spooling up, then letting go, and sometimes it lets go harder earlier thus resulting in the lurch....
just thoughts......

I don't feel this at all. However, in the morning when I first start the car, the car does feel a little funny. But this is just because the car isn't warm yet. Wait 5 minutes, and everything should be smooth. Does this help?

Actually, I drove my car this morning, and it also has the slight lurching feeling that you are referring to. So don't worry, you're not alone. After about 5 minutes, however, the car warms up and everything is smooth again.
