Default LS600hL "Review" posted at Lexus Owners Club

This was posted by someone at Lexus Owners Club:

"Had the extreme pleasure of driving a LS600h L yesterday. I was one of the lucky ones from each dealer that got to go to SoCal and drive one for a couple hours. It is worth every penny of the $109,000 base price. Unruly power, the AWD feels great. Turning in tight corners is easy also. After getting into a Ls460L the difference is really noticeable. The 600hL has so much more power and torque. Compared to any 12 cylinder Audi, Benz, or BMW, the LS600hL wins hands down. Way lower emissions than any of the others, way better MPG, More power (except for the Benz 600 twin-turbo). With the SULEV emission rating it's nearly 2 levels ahead of any competition, more hp and torque, quicker 50-70 mph acceleration, for way less $$. Great car."

Sounds promising, the most important part is how you feel when you drive the car, so that you have the confidence of making the right decision.

But speaking of which, promising first drives/reviews by the media have appeared just in the past two days. They also make the point that indeed even the ultra-luxe LS 600h L adheres to the Lexus tenet of value in offering more than the competition (in this case the other V12s) for significantly less cost, with lower emissions, better fuel efficiency, and more power (faster too). And lots of luxury, of course.

Imagining this as a taste of things to come...hope you enjoy your car!

Indeed, and I find them quite encouraging.

In the final analysis, however, AWD was a major reason I choose the LS600hL over the LS460. This will be an all season vehicle and here in Maine, AWD is a requirement for me. I'm still hoping for enhanced performance over the LS460, but, in the final analysis, wasn't a deciding factor. After all, at the WORST, I'll still be "Suffering" in a Lexus LS.

As an aside, I chose the LS600hL over a Mercedes S550 4-matic for two reasons, reliability, and that darned COMAND control on the Mercedes vs the non-intrusive touch screen and buttons on the Lexus.

My only remaining "concern" is my choice of color Verdigris Mica.

At first, we had the Nobel Spinel Mica in mind, but we saw a Verdigris Mica at the dealer and chose that on the spot. You never really know, though, until you've lived with it for a few weeks....

Glad you enjoyed the drive I wonder when will I finally get a chance to drive a 600hL
I haven't seen the Vedigris in person yet, but from the pics it's a greenish grey. I think the LS looks great with all of the darker color's, I saw a Truffle Mica 600hL a few weeks ago & it's gorgeous. I think the Black Opal is worth considering too since it's exclusive to the 600hL & looks great from the pics.

Advance congrats to you, Bossa_Nova!!! Hope you enjoy your new car.

IIRC black opal is one of the exclusive hybrid colors, in the pics it looks great.
