Default About to purchase RX400H AWD - Ihope....

Hi Guys,
I'm new around here !
Just sold our trusty old gaz guzzing ML430 and about to pull the trigger on an '07 RX400H AWD with premium plus and nav plus a few other bits and bob's for $1500 over invoice.

Question - is the 07 the latest available model year and if so when do the '08's come out ?

I think I read somewhere they came out April of this year - I might be mistaken though :-)

Regards Tim

The 08 RX350 came out this spring. The 07 is still the current RX400h. New model release date ? Late summer would be a pretty good guess.

Default Ok...

Hi Steve,

Thanks for putting me straight. I thought I'd read about a new RX model year coming out this Spring, just couldn't recall what type.
So the '07 I'm likely buying is not an end of year left over - I didn't think it was, but best to check I figure.

Regards Tim

Default Well the deal is done....

I'm now a proud owner of a RX400H AWD - had to drive up to LA to get a deal of $500 over invoice or $50,300 otd.

Not driving it much till this Friday when it gets a clear 3B bra installed to give at least some protection against stone chips.

Default Had the RX400h for nearly 2 weeks now....

and have clocked up about 600 miles - a mixture of city and freeway. Still learning the finer points of the vehicle, but so far very pleased - espcially with the MPG :-)

I'm a little suprised for such a technologically advance vehicle it has dino oil and needs an oil change every 5000 miles or so - I'm used to fully synthetic oil and oil changes every year of 12,000 miles.

I've read quite a few threads and I'm going to provide Mobil 1 5-30 for the 2nd oil change at 10,000 miles and thereafter only have the oil changed at 12,000 miles / yearly intervals.

That is unless I hear compelling evidence as to why this is a bad idea.

I see that you are following the usual normal European schedule..
I don't have any evidence for the intervals..
but I do a 6month/6000~7500 mile interval for our RX.. y not 12/12000? i dont know.. we sleep better @ night this way

Watch out you don't give the dealer an excuse to void your warranty. Toyota has had class-action problems with engine oil sludging in the past.
