Default 2008 RX400h pricing unchanged from 2007

Announced today...

"In 2008, the Lexus RX400h will start at the same price as it did in 2007, $41,800. The all-wheel drive RX400h will also remain the same at $42,580.

For the most part, the 2008 RX400h will be the same as the 2007 RX400h, except the 2008 model will receive "several styling enhancements including a restyled front grille design, new exterior chrome door handles, a new finish on the five-spoke, 18-inch wheels, and a color-keyed rear spoiler. The world's first luxury utility hybrid also receives seven new exterior colors including Smoky Granite Mica, Golden Almond Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic, Breakwater Blue Metallic, Brandy Wine Mica, Desert Sage Metallic and Matador Red Mica."

Wow, what does the new grille look like? Same as the 350's? Or totally new?

Another case of not reading carefully ... only the new colors are listed above... retained prior colors for the 400h are Crystal White, Black Onyx and Bamboo Pearl.

Robert,

Thanks for the clarification. I kinda freaked out on the news. I'm a big Murphy's Law guy and figured that the color that I intend to get would be, natcherly, discontinued.

But, are you saying that ALL the '07 colors:

Neptune Blue Mica
Flint Mica
Savannah Metallic
Bamboo Pearl
Crystal White
Millenium SIlver Metallic
Black Onyx

will be available with the seven NEW exterior colors:

Smoky Granite Mica
Golden Almond Metallic
Classic Silver Metallic
Breakwater Blue Metallic
Brandy Wine Mica
Desert Sage Metallic
Matador Red Mica

It's late, my eyes are blurry, and I drove 700+ miles this weekend, but I don't see where the official statement you posted lists what colors are RETAINED from '07. Or, do you "read between the lines" and ASSume that "similar" colors will be substituted for '08?

Either that, or I really need a remedial reading course.

Bob

The three above are the only retained prior colors, Bob.

When will the 08's be out?

The Lexus web site shows the 08 350's but no the 400h.

I would really like to have an X5, but do not run around at 12MPG.

The RX400h is a nice compromise.

My mom got the last 2007 RX400h at Lexus of Wilmington and that was in early February. So any time now.

No the 3.5L engine for 2008. Bummer.

The '08 RX 350 has been out since spring ... that's why it's on the site as of now.

The 08's are the same as the 07's right for the RX350's?

Apparently the 08 RX400 will be the same as the 07 except for new colors, grill, and door handles. This must be a short run as the all new 09 must be just around the corner.

When the '08 RX 350 came out this spring it was given some new exterior colors, new grille (although I can't really personally tell much of a difference), new interior wood color with the light gray leather (black wood), new 18" rim option, chrome door handles ... those changes have now carried over to the '08 RX 400h for the most part (it didn't change in the spring like the gas-powered model).

If the '09 RXs do make it out next spring ('08), you might not see the Hybrid version out until the fall. Just a thought so that they can have a full model year out on the 400h ... maybe some stragglers who still prefer the "old" model will buy up 400h from spring to fall that way that possibly would've bought the "old" 350s previously.

Does anyone have any side by side pics of the grille differences? I know it's nothing drastic.
