I guess it depends on what type of driving you do, and how long you plan to keep the vehicle. Some relatives of mine with 2 Mercedes vehicles, the first they got the extended warranty and didn't really use it, thought it was a waste of $$$, then the second Mercedes was more problematic (more recent model), and they could've used the extended warranty...got rid of the vehicle instead, got a Toyota.

I too am thinking of purchasing the extended warranty for my LS460 SWB...spoke with the Longo Lexus folks and was quoted $2k..7 yr / 100k miles. No deductable if serviced from Longo..and $50 if serviced anywhere else in US. So I would think that even out of staters can purchase it. It seems like a good deal.

Not that I am thinking anything is going to go wrong...but for piece of mind.

That may be a good deal NB. I just checked the price that my dealer gave me when I picked up the car. They were charging $2900 for 7/100,000 and $2400 for 7/75,000. I had no idea that this could be negotiable. BTW, this is for the Lexus Platinum Plan.
