Remote Starter on LS600hL or LS460 for that matter
Has anyone put a remote starter on their LS460? Or better yet, on their LS600hL?
I've been looking at the Compustar and Viper systems. I'm tempted (although not happy about the big additional remote on my keychain.)
I'm wondering what issues I might run into, especially with the hybrid.

Starting the car up with the A/C or defroster on is the biggest reason down here. Turning on the heater up north.
With the car sitting out all night, it's totally fogged up until the defroster has a chance to work. Really annoying on a tight schedule, in a neighborhood with lots of walkers with no reflective clothing on in the dark.

doc, you are telling me the 600hl stays out in the driveway every day? oh man, poor car
i really don't know much about remote starter and the new lexus (with the smart key) setup. especially how it works with door locks, etc... coz' i believe to start the car, you need a key inside the car. but if you put a key inside your car, you can't lock the door?? confusing
maybe you can search around in the gs350/430/450h forum. i would imagine higher chances there to find your answer given the popularity of the car

More worried about it messing with the car's electronics. It would be nice to leave a mall and not have the interior of my black car be at 3000F when I get in it. And not fogged up - she does have a real point there.

for the heat, try to get good ceramic tint (huperoptic is great). they block out tons of heat. not all, but tons. i have that on my car and it's significantly cooler (you can even do 60% -- like nothing -- on the front windshield and it blocks out heat too)
now for the remote starter, back on topic, it's a tough one that i have no answer

Whenever my LS has been sitting in the hot sun for an extended period, I press the keyfob's door unlock button as I approach it, holding it depressed until all the windows and the sunroof are lowered. It doesn't cool the interior completely, but it gets rid of the initial heat blast, until I start the car.
