do some tuning upgrades to it. get an exhaust, better suspension. maybe even lower it.
It is a FAR NICER and better car than ANY SC.

If you want a sports car, go get the new Corvette. 600bhp!!! or a new M5

First of all, I'm going to give myself a pat on the back for correctly estimating the trade-in value of your car.

Second, the chances of you finding a private party buyer for your car in your area are near zero, unless you sell really low (around $50K or less). With new expensive cars finding private party buyers is close to impossible.

Disagree, it's still basic supply & demand. You're in VA, he's in CA, lots of tree huggers here who want to go 'green' (I'm not one of them). IIRC, his car is silver/black, a very popular color combo, and very low miles. Lexus only make/sell apprx 150 GS450h a month, so if someone really wants one at a nice discount, this will sell (at the appropriate price). If CarMax offered 52k, they are figuring it will sell on their lot for 56-57k. Knowing this, OP should be able to get apprx 54k on a private sale. I think the bigger obstacle is that he leased, so there's more red tape in getting a clear title than a straight purchase. . .

$52k or $54k, difference is only "$2k"!!!

Stop dinning out for couple of weeks, you can save that much anyway.

If you really hate your "450h" that much just get sell it to CarMax already!!!

heh...2k is still 2k...supposed if you made 5k a month and your boss said you'll now get 3k... money is still money no matter what.

Easy for YOU to say, 2k to you is one impacted wisdom tooth or a root canal ?!? Sheesh. It's his car and his money, life is too short so let the OP make up his own mind and do what he wants. . .

The basic supply and demand laws still apply, but unfortunately you're talking about two completely separate markets with separate set of buyers: dealer market and private sale market. Almost no buyers of expensive new cars will ever look at the privately advertised vehicles. One of the reason is that most expensive new cars are leased, which is obviously impossible to do from a private party.

I would trade my 07 450 for the 450h.
