Default Removing the battery from an LS600h

I found this on another forum (non-Lexus related) where the guy had to do this procedure at the Toyota Technical center for training purposes. I thought you guys would like to see this.

This is a Toyota Technical center vehicle and they wanted us to remove the battery so they can run some tests on it....It is out of an 08 LS460h....Amazing stuff...To buy the battery new it would be about $8k plus labor....
Looking in the trunk...

Looking in the backseat

It's out!

Ah.. I messed with some of that in my hybrid class. Its pretty interesting stuff. I dont believe the battery is quite that much, but its up there. Using an engine hoist like that is pretty much the only way to do it too.

Its warrantied for 10 years, so dont stress the cost.

There is some cool technology going on there.

Wow, fascinating pics!!! And scary complex. I wonder how it compares with the RX 400h.

Thanks for sharing!

8K plus labor on new battery for a Hybrid Vehicle, Holy crap. Does it last about the same time as an ordinary car battery?

Thats pretty cool, I wonder if that was the executive version. My wife had an Oldsmobile Aurora that had tons of wiring underneath the backseeats.

6000hl spec is 5000lb, ls460l is 4332lb. so the battery can't be that heavy, unless something is MISSING on the 600hl, which has an extra electric engine to begin with as well

It's interesting how they got the battery down in size, thus probably allowing more trunk room than was possible in earlier models. Probably future models can improve on that even further.

I think they use a 6 cylinder gas engine instead of a V8.

They use a 5.0 V8 for the 600hL instead of 4.6 V8 . . .
