id go with the GS as well. it seems more of a buy than an is-f. again its what you want in your car so your opinion is as good as anyones. good luck.
is-f got some power though!
i would get it if i was looking for a car in that class! and if it wouldnt kill my insurance!
my friend bought a sports car and his insurance cost more than his car payment!

I'm also 6'3 and that little car is not practical at all. Unless your a Gnome with a family of Gnomes that need zero room to move/function then go for the IS... otherwise get G'd up! 1. The salesman opens the driver door for me.
2. I get in.
3. I look around.
4. I get out and say "No need to drive this one. Let's look at the GS"
I felt way too claustrophobic in the IS!

agree. It's a tiny persons car.
I'm 6'2" and there is no way I would want it as my main car. Maybe as a third car, but not even as a second car.
Too small and cramped and not enough luxury.

if the car is just for you and you dont have to worry about bringin people in then ou should be alright. i am 5'11 and sat in the is-f. it was fine for me but the person behind me would have been crushed to death!

Well, I'm not 6'3"; I'm only 5'9", but I felt extremely cramped in the IS. Here's a replay of my test drive of the IS350 a year ago:
1. The salesman opens the driver door for me.
2. I get in.
3. I look around.
4. I get out and say "No need to drive this one. Let's look at the GS"
I felt way too claustrophobic in the IS!

^ Demographics. Did you know that less than 5% of cars sold in N. America have manuals ? Even Bmw only truly offers a MT in the 3 series, and at that only 9% of all 3 series have a MT. IIRC, less than 5% of 2IS are MT. AMG is a good example, MB knows their target demographic. . .
It wouldnt have been a big deal for Toyota to at least offer a 6spd manual on the IS350/GS350.

BMW offers a MT in more than just the 3 series (1, 5, 6). I am a loyal Lexus owner.. and I am looking into getting a new GS or LS shortly (feeling like getting out of just sports cars after a long time) But the one thing I really like is that BMW offers a MT in 4 of their models, very impressive.
It wouldnt have been a big deal for Toyota to at least offer a 6spd manual on the IS350/GS350.

Toyota's business model is different, they don't like making special orders. They prefer to build and bundle the cars that sell to their target markets. If Lexus bean counters figure less than 5% of their market wants MTs, they simply won't build it. Personally, if they offer a true rev matching, paddle shifting, auto transmission (like the ISF) on their sport models (IS/GS), I'd much rather have that than a true MT...

I'm hoping Lexus do start to offer something like a "sports pkg" or a "performance pkg," modeling what BMW is doing... albeit it might not be as "sporty" unless they do some hw in Nurburgring (actually doing their hw in the twisty/narrow mountain roads in japan will probably suffice)

If fuel economy is a concern, the GS450h yields better mileage. 25 City/28 Hwy vs. the IS-F's 16 City/23 Hwy.

I would love to have a GS450 H... I am a tall guy ( 6'4 ) and I need that extra leg/head room.. I can't even fit in an IS , i feel to small and it makes me claustrophobic... Now they need to make a GS 350/460 F or at least make some "F" parts for the GS series... Now that would be pimp !
