I was able to achieve 28.5 mpg + at 80+ mph with a car full of me and luggage and 3 cases of Canadian beer - the trunk was literally full and the back seat 1/3 full - in the mountains of Kentucky and Tennessee

Its clear to me that if you really tried ( I wasnt ) and has no extra weight, was tested on flat ground and had a determined driver 32+ would be really EASY to achieve - more if you went 55 mph ( while people passed you at 80+ )

I'm very similar to you, perhaps even worse. I travel 15 miles to work and back. 1/2 is city and 1/2 is freeway. I avg. 22-23 mpg. I notice when I use the cruise control, I get better mileage on the freeways, but I've never gotten anything close to 30+

Then again, I live in Los Angeles where I've been told traffic is not so good.

Nice. I just came back from doing 800+ miles over the weekend. In my GS350 - full trunk and 3 other passengers - I averaged 28.5 mpg. Cruise control was set at 78mph for most of the trip. The speed limit on I-5 is 70mph. I wonder what difference I would have gotten if I didn't have all the luggage and people in the car.
