I noticed today that a big flaw in the Nav system in the '08 RX 350 has been fixed for 2009 - that you now can get directions while the car is moving using voice activation. Previously, so i understand, you'd have to pull over & be in Park, so directions on the fly didn't work.
I'd like that Nav system, but if I want the 400, I suppose I am stuck with the 2008 system?
'09 available?

To my knowledge you still cannot use the touch screen to enter a destination on both the 2008 and 2009. Voice activation has been in the nav for a few years. But it wasn't until the latest generation that you could actually use voice to enter an address. Both the 2008 400h and 2009 350 should have the same gen of nav and thus both should be able to enter an address with voice.

Thanks - that's good to know.
Of course, the POI's do leave something to be desired. Just for the heck of it, I put in "Continental Restaurants" while I was parked in front of a well known one. It did not show the one I was in front of (It showed that as an Italian Restaurant). It showed the closest as being about 5 miles away. BUT - the restaurant it showed happened to be owned by a friend of mine, and it CLOSED IN 2000! :-) Not only that, but it showed the location of his home, not the restaurant location. I suppose he held on to the name & phne # so it shows in a phone directory.

Is there an actual list of voice comands? I still think they aren't that good. I tried to change the radio station with a voice command and it did not work at all.
I Agree with Liphotoman. The POIs are the biggest joke. One o the major ferry terminals in BC are not even lited. Who makes the DVDs? Because you can't choose Lexus on the Navteq site.
