Smile extended warranty

Does it make sense to purchase the extended warranty for the 2008 400h if I intend on keeping the car pass the 4 year/50k period?

Hi gentoo,
If I were in your position I would wait until I neared the 4 year/50K period. The reason I say this is because you never know what will happen until that time comes. I now own a 2008 RX 400h, it is my 4th Lexus I have owned new since 2004. From the day I owned my first Lexus I thought I would keep it past the warranty period but never did. If you do choose to buy the extended warranty now and decided to sell let's say in a couple of years. You can contact Lexus' extended warranty department for a prorated refund. I hope this helps and good luck.

Since you can buy it from any Lexus or Toyota dealer in the USA it is also cheaper to buy it later. There are posts on dealers who heavily discount this warranty.
