The whole line of GY Eagles for trucks is junk IMHO. Unlike their Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 for sport sedans, which are excellent tires. Go figure.

I replaced Eagles with Fortera Triple Treads on our previous Jeep, and that was a match made in heaven! Too bad they're not available in the size for the RX.

We'll be buying Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas this weekend, will report on them later on.

I purchased the Alenzas about a year ago to replace my Goodyears. They wear nicely, have great traction in the winter. I only notice the noise when the weather is wet. I also noticed that my mileage is down about 1.5 mpg but to me safety far outweighs everything else.

My GY Fortera TripleTred finally wore out, but I went with Michelin LTX M/S based on the recent Consumer Reports rating in the November 2008 issue. The LTX doesn't do everything well, but I'm impressed with its winter capability, which is something that I really need in Colorado.

IMHO, the TripleTred tire was very good overall, but its ice traction wasn't as good after the tire wore down a bit. Its ride was harsh the whole time and the build quality was subpar. (On two tires, the tire shop had to use two huge weights to get them balanced. Also at least one of them was out of round when new.)

Check the C/R rating and choose your tire based on your driving style and condition. No tire does everything well, though some have come close.
