Default LS600hl Speedo doesn't match Cruise Control

I have a 2008 LS600hl, and the Speedometer does not match the cruise control setting (by 3 mph at lower speeds, by 5 mph at highway speeds). I understand that speedometers are often inaccurate, but is it normal for the analog speedometer to not match the cruise control setting?

Is there anything I can do about the problem?

Thanks.

Welcome to ClubLexus, sandy2!

We had a similar discussion on speedometer calibration, it seems that some variation occurs, I am guessing that the computation for the cruise control system is separate from the speedometer.

What size tires do you have on the car? Are they stock tires?

Yes- tires and wheels are factory original.

That could be the case, however it seems slightly odd, considering I have never had this problem on any other car, and I am not aware of anyone else who has this particular problem where they don't match (I of course understand that neither may be actually 100% accurate- just would like them to be the same).

Thanks for your help!

I agree the speedometer doesn't exactly match the laser cruise control. I'm about to head out for a road trip from LA to San Fransicso. I'll take note of how far off it is for me, since I rarely use the cruise control in the city.

Got back from my LA to SF trip. The cruise control was pretty much accurate (maybe off by 1-2mph). I also averaged 24.5 MPG for the trip. Pretty good for a car that is only supposed to get 22 MPG max.... and that was averaging 80-85 MPH on the 5 freeway.
