Default 19's and 20s for the RX400H

For those of you who have upgraded their wheels and tires what size and offsets of the wheels and brand name did you choose ?

What tire did you go with it ?

How much of a gas mileage decrease did this mod do to the RX400H ?

How heavy are the stock 18"s ?

I was told by one wheels and tire reseller, to go with 19x8 20mm offset
and 245/50-19 and 245/45-20 is this the right offset ? I don't want to end up rubbing

use this wheel calculator to help you figure out if the wheel/tire package is right for you:

Stormforge with your wheels and tires, how much of a mpg did you loose ? and you are feeling every bump with those very low profile tires of your ? How often do you have to buy new tires ?

you should expect to lose around 1-2 mpg (avg loss is around 1 mpg) due to heavier wheels and tire size, unless of course you are going with light weight wheels.

whether you feel bump will depend on road condition, wheel/tire package, and suspension upgrades. i deliberately chose tanabe nf210 springs, as they are only 5% stiffer than stock, and provides a small drop which i wanted. i can say with certainty that the ride on my GS is almost the same as stock, it is almost undetectable that there is an aftermarket spring on. but in general, expect to feel the bumps a tad bit more with low profile tires (and feel the bumps a lot more if are lowered a lot).

depending on tire brand and your driving habits, tire life can be around 12-15K miles, maybe more depending on tread life. i'm still on my 1st set of toyos, so i can't comment on tread life until i get there!

since i have a staggered set up, i will definitely go through tires faster than you. there is no need for an RX to have a staggered set up, just get same size wheels/tires, and you can just flip them front to rear (and vice versa) to extend tire life.
