Default Ride on the RX 450h???

I just wanted to ask people about the ride on the 2010 RX 450h. None of the dealers in the Boston area will allow test drives, as they are all sold. My experience with a hybrid a few years ago was that it clunked and groaned as it switched between electric and gas. I've ordered the car, but have a disclaimer about the ride. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

there is no clunk and groan when switching from electric to gas (or vice versa), it is a seamless transition (at least in my GS450h and my RX450h). what hybrid vehicle did you originally test drive that clunked and groaned?

with the 19" wheel package, the ride does get a bit bumpy when going over uneven pavement or small potholes. you will probably want the 18" wheel package, as it should provide a better ride quality that you are looking for.

It was a 2004 Honda Civic (I know, very different car, but the only decent size hybrid at the time). I was able to drive the 2010 RX 350 and liked the overall drive, it was just the transition between propulsion systems that concerned me.

don't worry, the transition is very smooth. but since you have a hybrid on order with a disclaimer, you really have nothing to worry about.

In my opinion, rides like a Lexus and the hybrid system is imperceptible.

LOL the honda hybrid? uhh. though they pioneered the first hybrid vehicle in the US, they dont have anything on toyota's synergy drive/lexus hybrid drive.

Well, it's the only experience I've had with a hybrid, so I wanted to make sure.

yeah i understand that. But yes, hybrid technology has progressed a lot in the past 10 years or so. The first prius and even the second gen prius still wasnt as seemless as they are in their latest generations. Lexus actually one ups the toyota system I think. It is even more seemless in a lexus.
