the GS does not have adaptive air suspension (i would know for sure, i'm a GS owner ). you are probably thinking about active power stabilizer suspension system (APSSS), which are electronic sways.

i don't know much about LS, so it's possible that LS has air suspension.

European car makers do the same. However, I do believe this is most likely the problems on their N.A. division, instead of their home headquarters. !?

active power stabilizer suspension system (APSSS),
yeah the APSSS is what I was talking about. doesnt that use air in the suspension to actively counteract sway?

nope, no air used at all. according to lexus, they describe apsss this way:

Active Power Stabilizer Suspension System
This available system equips the front and rear stabilizer bars with an electronic actuator. Wheel-speed, steering-wheel-angle, yaw-rate and deceleration sensors send information to the system's Electronic Control Unit (ECU), which calculates how much force is needed to help keep the vehicle flat in a turn. The front and rear actuators then torque the stabilizer bars, thus increasing the vehicle's sway resistance. And since this is an electronic system, response time is greatly shortened when compared to conventional hydraulic systems.

Here's the link to a lexus video showing how the apsss works:
http://www.lexus.com/lexus-share/dem...s/asss_nav.htm

when i was shopping for a GS450h, i so badly wanted this apsss option. unfortunately, canadian models don't have this option at all (and you can't order it); canadian dollar also tanked against the US dollar at that time, so it didn't make financial sense for me to import a special order through a US auto broker, who would order the GS450h through a lexus dealer. another reason i'm peeved at lexus for holding back options that are available in one country but not another.

This was also making me confused before. JDM Lexus 450h Air Suspension version doesn't equip this feature. However, JDM 450h S version, without the air suspension, does have this.

I can understand this APSSS doesn't need the air suspension to make it work, but will APSSS work better if the air suspension is in place?

Do GS or JDM GS have the models equiping with both of APSSS and air suspension?

can't comment on JDM GS450h, i'm totally not familiar with them at all. but US GS450h, APSSS is the only available option, and no air suspension option available.

The JDM GS 450h dose not have air suspension either, the RX does, but none of the GS lineup has it.
