Default How Much Did you Car Insurance Go Up?

For those that have gotten their RX450h already, how much did you car insurance go up? Also, let us know what car was replaced.

I was under the impression insurance would go down. My company does discount for the hybrid but I won't know until I get it, in December

Mine went up to $538 from $378 even with all of the safety features and a perfect record and senior discount but replacement cost was the factor. I'm with USAA and previously had a 2003 RX300.

I don't have a problem with that and I'm insured to the hilt.

Default Up about 13%

With State Farm in Eastern Washington State, our '06 RX330 was $611/year. Our new '10 RX450h is $693/year. So about 13% more.

In MA my insurance went from $810 with an 07 RX to $952. Interestingly enough when looking at the X5 3.5d and the ML320 Bluetec I got insurance quotes and with those vehicles the premium would have dropped- the Lexus is worth the insurance hike!

I got my new insurance quote from Amica. I went from $460 to $634 per year going from a '99 Toyota Camry to the RX450h.

This question doesn’t make much sense since there are so many variables to take into consideration such as: (1) your prior vehicle including model year; (2) your coverage; (3)your driving record; and (4) deductibles.

I am also with USAA and I love my coverage, but my insurance went down by about $150/6 mo. with the RX over the 2008 GS 350 AWD we traded in.

Insurance for our RX450h is $408.20 per 6 months including $60.20 for Mechanical Breakdown. I will be droping the breakdown because it doesn't make sense with its factory warranty. It's thru GEICO and in NJ. It replaced a 03 MB E320 which was about $620. It will cost $348 after the breakdown is dropped. A savings already.

I went from a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder to a 2010 RX450h and insurance went down from $316/6mo to $308/6mo.

No sure of the decrease perhaps number of airbags, laser etched glass, or what. I did expect an increase with the increase in the value of the car, but was pleasantly surprised by a refund check of 8$.
