Hybrid' in the third generation RX. You'll get more response.
My mileage had dropped to about 28.5 average but it's back up to 29-30 mpg now. I'm driving a little easier again. The car has so much power it's just 'fun' to use it.
It's hilly here with lots of lights. Many of my trips are less than three miles without about 30% of them up to 20 miles with partial hwy.

Cold weather and 'winter' gas will affect your mileage negatively. My 400h went from 8.2 or so up to 9.5 and even 9.9 as soon as the cold weather arrived and the gas stations started their winter blend gas.

Bottom Line, the Hybrid system is severely affected by the weather. The only way to get anykind of real world improvements in the winter months, is to drive with the Heating and Ventilation system OFF.
You can generate some "free" heat, but cracking a window open or popping the sunroof open to alleviate any kind negative cabin pressure, this will allow for free flowing air to flow through the ventilation heater core, and heat the interior of the cabin.
Obviously, this is not very efficient, but, when at a stop light, and accelerating... the ICE will most often turn on, and in those circumstances is when you can take advantage by turning on the Heating and Ventilation system. Using the heating system in this manner will alleviate the need to have the ICE running. Running the heating system 24/7 will trigger the ECU to keep the engine running for much longer, and even in circumstances at idle (when stopped). Whereas "over-riding" the ECU, by turning off the heating system when coasting or at a stop, will not trigger the ICE to be on. You can improve your fuel mileage by as much as 15-25% by just keeping the heating system OFF instead of on Auto mode.
